College is a time for fun, self-exploration, making friends, and, if you have time after all that, studying and attending class. But all that excitement doesn't come cheap- that's why you might be looking for easy ways to make money in college. These ideas are simple, easy, and available to every student who's looking to make extra money.
In this post, I will go over the top 6 easy ways to make money in college. These are the top 6 easy ways for college students to make money.
This post is all about easy ways to make money in college.
1. Start a Blog
Looking for a really lucrative side-hustle? Try blogging! You can start a blog for only $5/month in less than 5 minutes, and blogs can be extremely profitable.
This blogger started her blog as a sophomore in college, and by the time she was a senior, she was making over $25,000 a MONTH. She was making so much money by the time she graduated, she didn't even have to get a "real" job, And did I mention it costs less than $5 to get started?
Blogging is a fantastic, easy way to make money in college because you can set your own hours- how many jobs let you do that? You can blog around your class (or party) schedule easily. You can work as much or as little as you'd like, as long as you're writing at least 1 post per week.
Another reason why blogging is an easy way to make money as a student- it has an incredibly low start-up cost. You don't need much money at all to get started. You only need to pay for hosting (I've used Bluehost).
Blogging is flexible and requires no skills. No coding needed; you'll learn as you go. Tools like Grammarly help! You can write about anything and everything and find a way to make money- such is the beauty of the internet era.
I recommend you blog about something you're passionate about and that you love to talk about. For me, I love personal finance, and when I paid off over $150k in student loans, I couldn't shut up about it! But no one I knew was really that interested- so I started this blog! It was the best decision I ever made.

If you're serious about making big monthly income from a blog, there's no substitute for taking a blogging course. This is the #1 course I'd recommend, especially because it's taught by a girl who started her blog in college! If you follow the recommendations in this course, you're guaranteed to make money blogging.
2. Take Online Surveys
The second easy way to make money in college- get paid to give your opinion, or better yet, get paid to play online games! What's easier than that?
There are tons of legit apps and paid survey sites that will pay you the big bucks to simply answer questions honestly. Your opinion as a consumer has major value to them, so they're willing to pay to get it.
Signing up for these paid survey sites takes only a few minutes. All you have to do is create a profile- but don't rush through it! The more detailed you are, the more likely you are to get paid.
Surveys can take anywhere from 5-25 minutes, and you can easily select how long you want to spend on them. This makes taking surveys a perfect, and easy way to make money in college because you can take them any time you have a spare minute during your day. Did you get to class a little early? Make (sometimes up to $10) quick taking a survey!

My favorite online survey site is American Consumer Opinion. You can make up to $50 per survey, making it one of the highest paid survey sites. It is completely free to join, consistently receives A+ ratings as a survey site, and has paid over $35 million dollars to it's users.
While taking online surveys won't bring you thousands of dollars, it is a perfect way to make money as a college student. You can't beat it's easiness, simplicity, or flexibility. No matter how busy you are, you can always find an extra 5-10 minutes a few times a week to make some quick cash. Surveys are a great way to make some quick money as a student.

3. Get Employed on Campus
One of the easiest ways to make money in college- a job on-campus! Commutes are for noobs! Work where you already live!
You'd be surprised at how many on campus jobs exist for you to make some easy extra money. From tutoring to simply manning the desk at the library, there's an easy job for you.
First, reach out to your financial aid office to check your work study status, as you may qualify for additional job opportunities through this program.
Next, most universities use an online portal, like Handshake, to post employment opportunities for students. You can ask your financial aid office or simply google "[the name of your university] campus employment/jobs" and the results should pop right up. Simply create an account and start looking and applying.
Your campus library likely has TONS of jobs, but these tend to be very popular and get scooped up quickly! Don't forget to check in with your department's office to see if there are any jobs within your area of study. Going in person to ask is a great idea. These would not only help you make extra money, but would be great and relevant resume boosters, too. One of my close friends was able to find a job in the financial aid office. There truly is no limit of opportunity for easy jobs on campus.
If you're interested in research, there are usually plenty of opportunities to serve as a research assistant for graduate students and their research projects.
Love to act? Does your university have a medical school or PA school? If so, they are always in need of people willing to play "standardized patients" for patient encounters for the students' exams. This wouldn't be a weekly position but would be a few times a semester. Reach out to the department and ask if they're in need of an aspiring Oscar winner.
When I was a college student, I worked part-time as a tutor for student athletes, so be sure to check out your university's athletic department. Tutors were always in high demand for almost every subject taught at the university, so no need to be a chemistry whiz. Tutoring is a great on-campus job because you can set your own hours around your schedule. I never had to tutor on Friday nights or weekends if I didn't want to.
Don't forget to see if your university has limits on how many hours student employees are able to work. Oftentimes, students are limited to working 25 hours a week so as not to negatively impact your study time.

4. Sam's Club or Walmart (Free Tuition!)
Is there a Sam's Club or Walmart near your school? If so, you might be able to go to school for free if you work there!
Sam's Club and Walmart both participate in an employee benefits program through Live Better U that offers 100% tuition reimbursement for eligible employees. Sam's Club pays starting at $15/hour (rates vary by location), making it a great part-time job for college students even without the tuition reimbursement. You'd stock shelves, work the register, and help customers. It would definitely help get your daily steps in!
They offer both full-time and part-time jobs, and a part-time position might be the best option if you're also a full-time student. Plus, if you worked there you'd save a weekly trip to the grocery store!
5. Dog Walking
Most people know babysitting is an easy way to make money in college, but pet sitting and dog walking can pay much more (and be a lot easier...)
Sign up for Rover and Wag, and start raking in the cash! Dog walking through these apps is an amazing way to make easy money as a student. You can easily find dog walking opportunities that fit within your class schedule. Perhaps you're only available weekends, or Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, not a problem! Rover and Wag make it super easy to find dog walking jobs within a specific time frame.
I know several people that make hundreds of dollars using Rover and Wag! And who wouldn't want to get paid to exercise and hang with furry friends?
6. Become an Online SAT Tutor
Did you do particularly well on your SAT or ACT? If so, you can make over $50 an hour tutoring high school students.
Parents these days are really willing to do anything they can to improve their kids' chances of getting into college (cough Lori Loughlin cough), and that includes paying YOU tons of money to tutor their aspiring ivy-leaguer.
In order to become an SAT/ACT tutor, you will need to have taken the SAT or ACT within the last few years, and, of course, you will need to have done above average on the exam.
To become a tutor, you will have to submit your application and then, once selected, complete some brief training in how to tutor in these specific subjects. Next, it's time to pile up the cash!
The best part about this job is that it's often remote, making it super easy and convenient for you as a college student. Another benefit- you can set your own hours and your own schedule.
